What to Do at this Cape Cod State Park

Located only about 25 minutes from our West Dennis resort in neighboring Brewster, Nickerson State Park is the perfect place to spend time disconnected from technology. As one of the top state parks on Cape Cod, the natural attraction is filled with endless activities.

Open from sunrise to sunset, there is a parking fee to enter the 1,900-acre spot between mid-May and the end of October. However, you’ll realize the cost is worth it the minute you step foot out of your car. 

Once you’ve entered the park, there are several things to do that’ll make lifelong memories.

• Lace up your shoes and set off on the miles of hiking trails that take you around ponds and through woods. Be sure to keep your eyes open for animals that call this area home.
• Cast your line into one of the eight freshwater ponds to see who can reel in the biggest catch. Four of them are stocked year-round with trout. If you are going to fish, make sure you have the proper license.
• Go for a ride on the eight-mile bike path that is connected to the 26-mile Cape Cod Rail Trail.
