Lighthouse Inn’s, Bruce the Shark, was carved from a tree stump by local South Dennis, MA artist, Bill Lutz A large portion of the blockbuster Jaws, celebrating its 50th anniversary of release this year, was filmed on nearby Martha’s Vineyard. Plan a day trip to go on a guided tour of locations like the iconic bridge. Some scenes of the movie were also filmed in Falmouth on Cape Cod.
- Year By the Sea, starring Karen Allen, was filmed in several places throughout Cape Cod, including Wellfleet and Orleans. It also included the beautiful Cape Cod National Seashore in its filming locations.
- While much of The Finest Hours was filmed on sound stages, some of the exterior shots were filmed on Cape Cod, specifically Chatham.
- Many of the businesses in The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry were real businesses, like Cape Cod Jewelers and spots on Main Street in Hyannis. In fact, Parnassus Books in Yarmouth was used for the exterior of A.J.’s bookstore.
- Hightown, a crime drama series on Starz, is set in Provincetown. The opening sequence includes Provincetown landmarks like the Sagamore Bridge. Other Cape Cod towns like Hyannis are name-dropped throughout the series.
