Accessibility in detail

The Lighthouse Inn is committed to inclusion that extends to all visitors. We aim to make our hotel facilities available and accessible to all of our guests equally. Outlined below are details of layout of property and accessible amenities available for guests. Reception, Parking & Public areas

Upon arrival, there are three parking spaces designated for disabled access in Main Parking Lot. Two located by ramp in front of Main building and one located by pool entrance. Reception and Waterfront Restaurant located on elevated level of Main building.

The Lighthouse Inn Main building has three front entrances to the restaurant and reception level, two entrances direct to Reception are accessed by stairs with hand rail only. Third entrance located on West parking lot side of building is access by ramp extending 107’ in length to entrance of west dining room. Entry doorway from ramp 32” wide. Dining room consists of short pile carpet extending across 110’ to 17’ of area rugs just beyond dining room in lobby to reception desk. The reception desk has a side ledge at an accessible level of 32” in height; alternatively, we are able to offer a seated check in service away from the front desk if more suitable in the Reservations Office. Public areas: Lobby, Living Room, Gift Shop are all located on same level as reception desk. Lighthouse Inn employees will read menus any printed/visual information and provide verbal directions to locations on property to guests who are blind/low vision.

Public Accessible Restroom is located at the ground level of Main Building. Restroom may be accessed from lobby through West Entrance of Dining room down the exterior ramp to ground level, when accessing from within Main building or direct from main parking lot. Entry doorway to building is 32” wide to well-lit corridor 6ft wide. Follow corridor 32 ft to accessible single restroom 9’ x 6’ with space free of obstacles and doors. Fold down Changing table available in accessible restroom. Conference Rooms and Game room are also available on this ground level of Main building., with Oceanview Lounge occasionally used for private functions and dining.

Restaurant

Waterfront Restaurant offers dining inside Main building as well as outside dining of oceanfront deck. Guests in wheelchairs can access deck from inside through two exits on south side of dining room. If lawn seating is preferred, guests may access from parking lot around building to oceanfront side of Restaurant. Waterfront Restaurant offers a lot of natural light during day hours with wall sconces lighting in evening. Large print menus available upon request. Lighthouse Inn employees will read menus to guests who are blind/low vision if requested. Dietary options available. Before placing your order, inform your server if anyone in your party has a food allergy.

Leisure Facilities

Accessible parking is located close to the outdoor pool. The pool is accessed by a wide set of graduated steps with a middle handrail. The pool has a starting depth of 3ft gradually extending to 7ft depth, with a shelf seat in pool with 3ft depth. A fixed pool lift is in place at the south entrance of pool and operational during all times that the pool is open to guests. There are no lifeguards available at Lighthouse Inn pool or beach. Contact staff for assistance with use of lift.

The beach at Lighthouse Inn spans over 550 feet along Nantucket Sound. The beach is located on the south side of property. Beach access from Main parking lot, 300ft of pavement to access 60ft of lawn to 1 ft cement partition separating lawn from sandy beach. Beach wheelchairs may be rented locally and delivered to property prior to arrival.

Adjacent to Lighthouse Inn is the West Dennis Public beach offering over a mile of sandy beach area. Select months beach wheelchairs are available at public beach. (Please contact Town of Dennis in advance to reserve a beach wheelchair/Surf/Mobi Beach Chair)

An 8-hole miniature golf course is located next to the outdoor pool at end of main parking lot. There is an accessible parking space on west side of mini golf. An accessible wheelchair golf club is available upon request through the front desk to be signed out.

Accessible Accommodations

Lighthouse Inn offers 3 accessible room options: Accessible King Suite, Accessible King Room, Accessible Oceanfront Room. Accessible rooms with ADA required features restroom with roll in shower, grab bars, foldable seat and adjustable shower head, visual emergency devices, closed caption televisions, Accessible room type may be selected when making reservation.

Accessible Accommodations Descriptions

The Accessible King Suites are located in the Carriage House building. These ADA compliant accessible two room suites, feature one King size bed and adjoining room with two twin beds and an accessible roll in shower.

This Accessible King room, located not more than 100 yards from the beach, pool and Main House features a king bed on first floor accessible ramp from parking to room, accessible roll in shower, air conditioning, television, refrigerator, in-room safe, hairdryer and telephone with data port as well as complimentary wi-fi access.

The Accessible Oceanfront room looks directly out over the ocean, 50’ from our private beach. This spacious one-room accommodation features a sitting area, a queen and a double bed, wood burning fireplace with wood provided. accessible restroom with roll in shower, air conditioning, television, refrigerator, in- room safe, hairdryer and telephone
